A plane carrying 21 people crashed Tuesday on takeoff near Houston, Texas, and all passengers and crew were able to get out before it was engulfed in flames, according to firefighters and local authorities.
And Stephen Woodard, an official with the Texas Public Security Service, announced at a press conference that all 18 passengers and three crew members on board the plane survived.
According to the official, one person was slightly injured.
For his part, Tim Gibson, director of local emergency services, said that the passengers were able to exit the plane, adding, "They were very shocked," stressing that the accident "finished in the best possible way."
The plane was a McDonald Douglas, a twin-engine aircraft, which was heading to Boston, and the fire was completely destroyed, according to scenes captured by the rescue services.
