A ship believed to be a North Korean fishing boat has floated off the coast of Baengnyeong Island, the northernmost part of the West Sea, and related agencies are conducting a joint investigation.

According to a military official, a 3 ton wooden fishing boat ran aground on the northern shore of Baengnyeong Island in Incheon around 9 am today (16th).

A military official said, "It appears that there were no people on board, and it is not a military vessel."

The military authorities estimate that the ship was washed away by the current without its own power from the north, and it is said that they are investigating with various possibilities, including loss.

It is known that the weather in the North Sea today was not good.
