A NASA official urges Zayed University students to persevere in the field of space
Pamela Melroy, Deputy Director of the US Space Agency "NASA" urged students of science and technology majors to persevere, and to persevere in innovation and scientific research during the years of study, to become the future leaders in the field of space.
This came during a lecture organized by the Colleges of Natural and Health Sciences and Technical Innovation at Zayed University in Dubai in cooperation with the United States mission to the country, entitled "The Artemis Generation: Inspiration and Cooperation for a More Inclusive Future."
Pamela Melroy noted the UAE's interest in the field of space by launching a new mission in early October to explore the planet Venus and 7 other asteroids in the solar system, and the implementation of the first Arab landing on an asteroid at the end of the journey that will cover 3.6 billion km (7 times the journey of the Hope probe to Mars). This is among the 50 projects launched by the government.
Pamela expressed her happiness to meet the Zayed University students, saying: "It was great to meet the brilliant young minds of Zayed University students who represent the generation that will make great future discoveries for our planet, as meeting them made me remember myself when I was young and how I drew inspiration from the professors at work to connect My dream is to become an astronaut."
For his part, Dr. Faris Hawari, Dean of the College of Health and Natural Sciences at Zayed University, stressed that the lecture would motivate students to put forward ideas and expand quickly in the journey of space exploration, stressing the importance of working on preparing the next generation to achieve and support the UAE’s goals in the field of space
