A major forest fire broke out on Monday in Saint-Aubin-de-Médoc, near Bordeaux (Gironde).
Some 55 ha of vegetation were destroyed, and fifteen people living in nearby residences had to be evacuated, announces the prefecture.

Monday evening, the fire was contained, and the fifteen evacuees were able to reach their homes.
It took the intervention of two Dash planes and two canadairs which multiplied the drops in the late afternoon and evening, as well as a hundred firefighters.
According to the mayor of Saint-Aubin, Christophe Duprat, the fight against the fire continued for part of the night.
And several roads remain closed to traffic in the area.
