Indian citizens have started to return home from India, where the number of corona19 confirmed cases is increasing rapidly.

According to the Consulate General of Chennai and the Korean Association of Chennai, 172 local residents departed from Chennai International Airport in southern India on the 4th at 0:30 a.m. local time on the Indian Vistara Airlines special flight (UK6301).

It is known that this special flight includes family members of corporate expatriates, business travelers, and international students.

They got on the plane after receiving a negative confirmation from the Corona 19 test using real-time gene amplification (RT-PCR) locally.

Initially, the number of passengers expected to board was 173, but when three were confirmed, they were removed and two babies who do not occupy a seat were added to the number of passengers.

Currently, the spread of Corona 19 is going out of control in India, with about 400,000 new cases occurring every day.

On the afternoon of the 6th, an Asiana Airlines charter flight from Bengaluru Airport will return to Korea with 211 Korean residents.

This month, 12 irregular flights between India and Korea, including these two, are being promoted.
