Caroline Garcia lost three places, Alizé Cornet seven, Pauline Parmentier a ... the French fell back in the WTA ranking released Monday, which sees the Japanese Naomi Osaka take the place of N.1 world.

A quarter-finalist in Toronto, Osaka doubles Australian Naomi Barty eliminated in the second round of the Rogers Cup.

First Canadian in the final in Toronto since 1969, the young Bianca Andreescu climbs 13 places to become 14th in the world after her consolation at the Rogers Cup against Serena Williams.

This is the soup with a grimace, however, for the Blue: Garcia retains his place of French N.1 but down to 25th worldwide (-3). Behind Kristina Mladenovic (50th), Alizé Cornet (60) lost 7, Fiona Ferro (71) three and Pauline Parmentier (81st) only one.

Chloe Paquet is the first Frenchwoman to record a win with two places better to climb to 145th overall.
