The woman received a phone call from a man who said he called the police. He claimed that the woman's identity had been stolen, and wanted her to enter a code in her bank box and pay a larger sum of money.
Police say the woman did not go on the scam, which is classified as an elder crime, and instead she contacted the police. Now a notification has been made.
