The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar expressed his appreciation for the role of the UAE leadership in fostering peace and tolerance efforts, stressing the keenness of Al-Azhar and the Council of Muslim Sages to support all sincere efforts to achieve world peace and brotherhood among the people.
This came in a statement issued by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif today after the announcement of the Grand Imam of the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif donation of the "Human Brothers Award - from the House of Zayed," announced by the United Arab Emirates last February and was awarded in the first session of the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Tayeb Sheikh Al-Azhar, Pope Francis the Pope of the Catholic Church in recognition of their joint efforts to spread world peace and achieve brotherhood among human beings, culminating in the proclamation of the Universal Document of Human Brothers.
The Grand Mufti of Imam al-Akbar donated the prize to the House of Zakat and Sadasat al-Masri, which is headed by His Eminence and the Fund of Life of Egypt and Children's Patients at the Orman Healing Hospital for the Treatment of Cancer in Luxor, as well as the payment of some debts of the Garmin and Garmat.
The Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, the Grand Imam of the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, expressed appreciation for the role of His Holiness Pope Francis of the Catholic Church in dialogue and understanding between different cultures and religions.
