Mayors face the government over pesticides
Getting the government moving on the issue of pesticides is what some French mayors want. They are now close to a hundred to have signed decrees prohibiting the use of phytosanitary products on their territory. Mayors of rural communes of course, but also elected representatives of large cities. A sling that forced the state to react and launch a citizen consultation to determine the minimum distance to be respected between homes and spraying areas. An online consultation that ends this Tuesday, October 1, without appeasing the anger of the mayors.
