The man had barricaded himself in an apartment and according to the police there were information that he was armed.
- We had a negotiation with the men and it failed. The force of intervention therefore went into the apartment and secured the man. There was also a woman in the apartment, says Johan Josarp, police officer in the West Region.
The man is formerly known by the police. He feels, according to Josarp, mentally ill.
At seven o'clock on Sunday evening, the man was arrested after police threw tear gas into the apartment. He is suspected of abuse, illegal threats and unlawful detention.
No one has been physically harmed in connection with the operation.
