A man was shot dead in the street Wednesday evening in Ivry-sur-Seine, in the Val de Marne. Called around 11 pm by a witness who heard gunfire, the police discovered the unconscious casualty on the ground and shot in the head and chest, according to information gathered by Europe 1.

Despite the relief provided on site, the man succumbed to his injuries less than an hour later. When the police intervened, he still held in one hand a plastic bag containing bundles of banknotes of 20 euros. Around him, the investigators also found a dozen 7.62 and 9 mm sockets, indicating that the victim was the target of automatic gunfire. Shooters are actively sought by the 36 Bastion Criminal Brigade, which is in charge of the investigation.
