“Yesterday (August 14 - RT ) at a cabinet meeting, he drew attention to the need to stop the Energy Bridge project, which provides for the withdrawal of nuclear power unit No. 2 of the Khmelnitsky NPP from the Ukrainian energy system and the transfer of its work to the Polish energy system,” he said.

According to him, in case the unit is removed from the state power system, Ukraine may face an increase in electricity shortages and an additional increase in tariffs for Ukrainian consumers.

“This is not European integration, this is the work of the line only in one direction - to Poland. Today, our price has already skyrocketed, today there are already electricity shortages ... Ukraine is increasingly starting to import electricity from Slovakia and Belarus, ”the official added.

Gerus called on Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Igor Nasalik to repeal the relevant decree.

In June, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill to reduce electricity prices for the country's population.
