Logic respected during the last sixteenth final of the Coupe de France: Monaco made a short bite (3-1) of the small Saint-Pryvé / Saint-Hilaire (4th division), Monday evening in Orléans, to face Saint -Etienne in the next round.
With this easy victory, the Monegasques offer themselves an eighth final gala, with the reception of Saint-Etienne, at the end of January.
Facing the capital of the cherry, Ligue 1 players did not do in detail. Ultra domineering, they folded the match after a big half hour of play, leaving no chance to their opponents.
Roberto Moreno had indeed made the choice to align a serious starting eleven. In the Loiret, the Spanish coach had privileged his stars in attack with Golovin and Ben Yedder, in particular.
If he had however opted for a more hybrid environment, leaving Bakayoko, Fabregas on the bench, and Adrien Silva in the stands, this has not been seen. The ASM was able to continue its recovery quietly, brilliant against Orleans commuters who had eliminated Toulouse in the previous round (1-0).
In front of a full Source Stadium (around 7,300 spectators), the usual enclosure for US Orleans (Ligue 2), Baldé Keita and Ben Yedder made the residents of Nationale 2 suffer martyrdom.
Dominated, the amateurs quickly let go in the freezing cold. On a head from Jovetic well pushed back by goalkeeper Chatelin, Baldé rushed to open the scoring, keeping the Principality warm from the twelfth minute.
Before the half-hour of play, the Senegalese international doubled the stake, quiet at the reception of a center behind Ben Yedder (28th).
The top scorer in Ligue 1, imprecise so far, did not play supporting roles for a long time. It was definitely necessary to rock the match on the side of the Mediterranean by deceiving Chatelin closely (38th).
The players of Saint-Pryvé / Saint-Hilaire still enjoyed themselves at the end of the match, facing the Monegasques who were more there in the second half. Antoine, already a goalscorer against Toulouse, reduced the score (82nd) to the delight of a stadium fully committed to the local cause.
