A bank report revealed that the Egyptians withdrew about 31.5 billion pounds from ATMs throughout the country through 17.6 million transactions during the Eid Al-Adha period.

According to a report published by the Middle East News Agency, during the period leading up to Eid al-Adha from August 3 to August 8, Egyptians withdrew LE 22.29 billion through 12.2 million transactions, including salaries of government employees. August to August 13 pulled about 9.15 billion pounds through 5.39 million transactions.

He pointed out that the government banks (Ahli, Egypt and Cairo) accounted for about 70% of the total withdrawals during this period with a total value of 21.8 billion pounds, and the number of operations amounted to about 12.3 million operations, or 12 billion pounds to the National Bank through 6.5 million transactions. Bank Misr, through LE 4.7 billion, and LE 1.74 billion through 1.09 million transactions.

Private banks accounted for only 30% of total cash withdrawals from ATMs during the period from August 3 to 13, the report said.
