Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio is working on a direct supply by a Chinese company of 100 million masks to Italy.

This is learned from informed sources, according to which Di Maio has already spoken to Prime Minister Conte, Minister Speranza and Commissioners Borrelli and Arcuri about the operation.

The contract of the order, it is learned, would already be signed. After the arrival of several lung ventilators from China and other countries, the emergency now also concerns the masks supplied especially to doctors, nurses and health workers committed to rescuing the sick, without whom the safety conditions in hospitals would be lacking for to be able to continue operating. From here, and also by virtue of some customs blocks of direct aid to Italy registered in these days, the line of action that is being pursued by the Foreign Ministry to identify a direct and reliable supply that guarantees the arrival of masks in Italy.
