The Confederation of African Football has released this Sunday, November 24 the list of nominees for the 28th edition of CAF Awards, which rewards the actors of African football. The lucky ones will be known on January 7th, 2020 in Egypt.

Mane, Mahrez or Salah? Algeria, Senegal or Madagascar? On January 7, the best players, teams or coaches of African football will be known at a party in Hurghada (Egypt). The list of candidates gives pride of place to the teams and players who have distinguished themselves at the last African Cup of Nations. With four elements, Algeria, the reigning African champion is well represented in the list of nominees for the trophy of the African Player of the Year. Senegal follows behind with three named players. Sadio Mané (Senegal) Riyad Mahrez (Algeria) and Mohamed Salah (Egypt) are favorites to compete for the prestigious distinction.

Cameroonian Ajara Nchout, future queen ?

On the coach side, Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi is favored for the African Coach of the Year trophy against Aliou Cissé (Senegal) and Nicolas Dupuis (Madagascar). Algeria, Senegal and Madagascar are also in the race to win the title of African National Team of the Year.

In women, the Cameroonian Ajara Nchout, who has managed a very beautiful World Cup 2019, should not be worried by her rivals for the award of the African Player of the Year.

Note that the African Interclub Player of the Year award has been reintroduced and will be reserved for the major players in the CAF club competitions.
