October 22, 201910.16 Square protests and clashes erupted in six of the nine provinces of Bolivia, after the electoral court announced a victory in the first round of the current president Evo Morales, in power for 13 years. A crowd of Mesa supporters, who until recently had seemed to end up on the ballot with Morales, set fire to the electoral offices of Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia and the seat of the supreme court. Supporters of Morales and Mesa then faced each other on the street at different points.
