Argentina defeated Serbia in the quarter-finals of the 97-87 World Cup basketball game on Tuesday in Dongguan, China, and found the last four in the competition for the first time since 2006.

Orphaned back Manu Ginobili, who retired internationally after the Rio Olympics in 2016, the Argentinians have created a surprise against Serbia's Nikola Jokic and Stefan Jovic, often cited as favorites for the world title.

For a place in a first World Cup final since 2002, teammates Luis Scola (39 years and 20 points Tuesday) will face the United States or France, which clash Wednesday (13:00 French) in Dongguan.
