Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a state visit to the United Arab Emirates.
According to the Russian leader, the key issues of cooperation between the two countries are interaction in the international arena, interaction in energy, space and tourism.
While in the UAE, Putin met with Crown Prince Abu Dhabi Muhammad Al Nahyan. Last time, Putin visited the UAE in 2007, but the Russian president and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi met ten times and spoke on the phone several times.

A new meeting between Putin and Muhammad Al Nahyan took place in the Qasr al-Watan Palace, which houses the office of the President, Vice President, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, as well as the Ministry of the Presidency of the UAE.
On the way to the palace of the Russian president, Mercedes-Benz cars were accompanied with emirate numbers, stylized as Russian traffic police crews. When the Russian leader arrived at the entrance to Qasr al-Watan, a fighter squadron flew over the palace, painting the sky with the colors of the Russian flag.
As the President of Russia noted, relations between Moscow and Abu Dhabi are developing in a friendly manner.
“Relations in the cultural, economic and humanitarian spheres are expanding, close coordination is maintained on topical issues of the global and regional agenda, primarily in Syria, Libya, Yemen, and the situation in the Persian Gulf,” the Russian president said during his visit to Abu Dhabi . As part of the negotiations, Russia and the UAE signed agreements totaling $ 1.4 billion. According to Putin, investments are made in petrochemicals, transport, and medicine.

Among the documents signed by the parties were a memorandum of understanding between the ministries of energy of the two countries on cooperation in the field of energy, a concession agreement between PJSC Lukoil and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company on the Gasha gas field, a framework agreement on strategic cooperation between PJSC Gazprom Neft ”And the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, as well as other agreements.
He mentioned that Moscow welcomes Abu Dhabi's investment in the Russian economy and recalled that the Mubadala fund from the UAE and RDIF have jointly implemented dozens of projects worth $ 2.3 billion.
According to Putin, Moscow and Abu Dhabi continue to coordinate efforts and policies on the global hydrocarbon market, as well as joint work in the field of energy and the peaceful atom.
“Our friends in the Emirates can count on Russian assistance in the development of nuclear generation. Rosatom offers its unique capabilities, experience, modern technologies that meet the highest standards, including safety, ”he said.
The Russian leader noted that Moscow was ready to continue to provide assistance to the UAE in the space industry, in particular, in satellite navigation and launching vehicles into orbit.
Separately, Putin mentioned the tourism sector, noting that the UAE is one of the most popular destinations among Russians. Last year, the growth of tourist flow amounted to 23%, and the spending of tourists was comparable to the trade between the two countries.
In addition, Putin mentioned the prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector, noting that Russia can meet the needs of the UAE in grain and meat, including halal.
