The member of the Lebanese Parliament, the independent MP, Cynthia Zarazir, entered a sit-in inside a bank in order to obtain her deposit there in order to undergo an operation.

The deputy from the Change Movement stormed the branch of the “Byblos Bank” in the Antelias region, north of the capital, Beirut, and Zarazir stressed that she needed her money to perform surgery, and that she entered the bank as an ordinary citizen and not as a member of the House of Representatives, which she recently joined as one of the representatives of the first electoral district. The parliamentarian stressed her keenness not to enter or stay any of the depositors inside the bank so that they would not be detained.

After her meeting with the director of the bank, accompanied by her lawyer, it was agreed to give her a sum of money, but at the exchange rate of 8000 pounds to the dollar.

However, this offer did not appeal to the parliamentarian, and she confirmed her continuation of the sit-in, provided that she would receive an amount of 8,500 US dollars.
