An incumbent police officer has been arrested for refusing to take a breathalyzer after drinking and having a car accident. 



According to the police today (8th), the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul has arrested and is investigating the charge of violating the Road Traffic Act (refusal to measure alcohol). 



Superintendent A is charged with driving a vehicle near Sangwangsimni Station in Seongdong-gu around 2 a.m. on the 6th and crashing into a taxi, and refusing to request a breathalyzer test from the police who have been dispatched to the scene.

It is known that the police, who arrived after receiving a report from a witness, smelled alcohol from Inspector A and tried to measure the breath. 



The Gwangjin Police Station announced that it will take the measures to release the position of Inspector A.



Refusing to take a breathalyzer test by the police may result in imprisonment of between 1 year and 5 years or a fine of between 5 million won and 20 million won according to the Road Traffic Act.
