Aachen (dpa / lnw) - The police stopped a wrong-way driver after a collision on Autobahn 4 near Aachen.
The allegedly intoxicated 77-year-old drove in the wrong direction in the fast lane, collided with the car of a 31-year-old and landed in the central barrier, the officials said on Sunday.
The man then drove in the wrong direction on Friday evening.
Emergency services blocked the motorway and stopped the 77-year-old.
Since the driver did not want to get out, the police broke one of the side windows of the car and temporarily arrested him.
A blood sample was taken from the man and he was able to leave the station later.
His driver's license was secured.
Nobody got hurt.
