Leer (dpa / lni) - A man sentenced to imprisonment in Greece was arrested at a customs control in Leer station.
An international arrest warrant had been submitted against the 45-year-old, said the federal police to whom the customs officers had handed over the case on Friday.
The Greek judiciary had searched Europe-wide for the man because he was convicted there of serious theft in several cases and still has to serve a prison sentence of around ten years.
A judge at the Leer District Court announced the arrest warrant.
The 45-year-old was imprisoned.
The General Prosecutor's Office in Oldenburg took over the extradition proceedings to Greece.
