Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The connections of the alleged right-wing extremist prepper group "Nordkreuz" apparently also extended into the field of education in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
As the Ministry of Education announced on Monday in Schwerin, a teacher is suspected of having had contacts with the group.
According to information from the State Criminal Police Office, he was suspended from duty last Friday.
Further labor law measures up to extraordinary dismissal are currently being examined, said a ministry spokesman.
The department acted immediately.
"Teachers with a dubious attitude to the free and democratic basic order cannot remain in the country's school service," it said.
Further details could not be given in view of ongoing investigations.
In the course of criminal investigations against "Nordkreuz" it became known that the group also included former and active police officers who regularly exchanged information in chat groups.
According to the Ministry of the Interior in August, a total of 17 officials and one employee of the state police are suspected of having spread right-wing extremist ideas in the Internet chats.
