Erfurt (dpa / th) - In Thuringia, paid training places for state-approved daycare educators are again offered this year.

Applications for the third year of training are possible until March 31 at five universities of applied sciences, the Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday in Erfurt.

Up to 120 apprenticeships would be funded by the state.

In order to get the skilled worker problem under control, a model project for practice-integrated and remunerated teacher training has been running in Thuringia since 2019.

From the point of view of Education Minister Helmut Holter (left), the project has proven itself.

Prospective educators already work for a provider during their training and receive remuneration for the entire duration of their training.

So far, the way to the educator profession has traditionally led through school training, for which the future educators receive no remuneration and sometimes even have to pay school fees.
