The 36 students at Saxnäs school in Vilhelmina municipality were allowed to stay at home because the weather was too bad.
The students who have the furthest to school must travel 30 km and according to Maria Bäckström, teacher and special teacher at Saxnäs school, they chose to close the school so as not to risk the students' safety.
- There is a lot that can happen along the way, says Maria Bäckström, teacher and special teacher at Saxnäs school.
According to her, the school in Risbäck has also closed.
Maria Bäckström says that it is snowing and blowing and drifting fast again.
- Staying indoors is the best thing that mountain people can do if they have the opportunity, she says.
