Postponing the signing of Zamalek and Al-Ahly for security reasons

The tripartite committee in charge of managing Egyptian football announced the postponement of the league between Zamalek and Al-Ahly, which was scheduled for next Monday within the fourth stage, for security reasons as a result of its coincidence with the celebration of Christmas and New Year.

Instead of playing the "Clasico" of Egyptian football on Monday, the local association decided to hold two postponed matches from the third stage, which will bring together Smouha in Zamalek, and Al-Ahly in Al-Ittihad of Alexandria.

"The Egyptian Football Association Competitions Department decided to hold a match Smouha with Zamalek, which has been postponed from the third round of the Premier League competition, at 5 pm next Monday, December 28, at the Army Stadium in Burj Al Arab," he said in a statement.

He added, "It was also decided to hold the Al-Ahly match with Al-Ittihad of Alexandria, which was postponed from the third round of the competition at 7:30 pm on Monday, December 28, at Al-Ahly Stadium, provided that the date for the Zamalek and Al-Ahly match would be announced later."

Al-Ahly leads the standings after winning their first two matches on goal difference in front of newcomer Ceramica Cleopatra and Aswan, while Zamalek occupies sixth place after winning and tied in their first two matches.
