A stone's throw from Löderup is Hörup's church.
Metal thieves have struck there, but this time it was not water taps or door handles.
During the theft, two urns, with dust in them, were stolen from a grave, which Ystads Allehanda was the first to tell about.
- I could never have imagined that someone would cross this border, to actually steal two buried urns.
We put this in connection with all other thefts that have taken place in our parish but also in many other parishes in the area.
Then it was about scrap metal such as handles and taps, says Maria Olsson, parish priest Löderup parish.
Concerns in the congregation
The two urns have stood in a so-called columbarium, a type of grave where urns are walled in behind a tombstone or, in this case, behind a glass facade and a lock.
When SVT Nyheter Skåne visits Hörup's cemetery, several burial rights holders, who do not want to be pictured, talk about their concerns.
- As soon as we heard that this had happened, we went here to make sure we had not been affected, says a man to SVT Nyheter Skåne.
No suspects
A concern shared by others in the congregation.
- Many burial rights holders are worried about their burial sites.
There are not many columbariums here, but many tombstones have been drained of their decorations.
Many have been affected, but it is a completely different dimension when you actually get rid of your relatives, says Maria Olsson.
As SVT Nyheter previously reported, this is just one in a series of the various thefts that have affected cemeteries.
Police said last Monday that they suspect that it is a thief, or alternatively an addict, who is on the move.
But in the absence of clues, there are still no suspects.
