China News Service, February 5th, according to Russian Satellite Network, on the 4th local time, Iran’s ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, stated that if it wants to return to the Iran nuclear agreement, the United States should lift sanctions on Iran and compensate for its losses. Iran awaits actual actions by the US instead of a statement.
According to reports, Jalali said at a press conference in Moscow: "In the first phase, the United States should lift sanctions. We are waiting for action. Foreign Minister Zarif has said earlier that we have heard slogans and statements. The United States should adopt Action."
The White House announced earlier that US President Biden intends to discuss plans with Iran to negotiate with allies.
Tehran stated that Iran does not intend to negotiate with the United States. Any progress on this issue will depend on whether the United States takes actual actions, including lifting sanctions against Iran.
In July 2015, Iran reached a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue with the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany.
According to the agreement, Iran promised to restrict its nuclear program and the international community lifted sanctions against Iran.
In May 2018, the US government unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear agreement, and subsequently restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iran.
Since May 2019, Iran has gradually suspended the implementation of some of the terms of the agreement, but promised that the measures taken are "reversible."
On January 27, 2021, the new US Secretary of State Blinken stated that as long as Iran re-complied with the Iran nuclear agreement, the Biden administration was willing to ease the Trump administration’s sanctions on Iran.
