Kolbermoor (dpa / lby) - A historic windmill burned down in Upper Bavaria.

No one was injured in the fire near Kolbermoor (Rosenheim district), as a police spokesman said on Friday.

The property damage is therefore estimated at 100,000 euros.

When the fire brigade arrived on Thursday evening, the wood and steel mill was in full fire, the Kolbermoor fire brigade said.

The firelight and the column of smoke could be seen for miles.

The mill away from the village was reportedly not inhabited.

There was no danger to the residents in the area.

70 fire fighters, an ambulance service and the police were on site.

According to the information, the fire was quickly extinguished.

The cause of the fire is so far unclear.

Now is being investigated, said a spokesman.
