Munich (dpa / lby) - In a special session, the education committee of the state parliament is dealing with the situation at schools today.

Education Minister Michael Piazolo (Free Voters) will report both when school starts after the Christmas holidays in January and on problems with digital lessons.

Securing educational success and quality are also on the agenda, as is the legal assessment of the absence of the carnival holidays.

The SPD parliamentary group had already demanded in advance that, in view of the different requirements in distance learning, transfer certificates, grades and remaining seats should be suspended or reduced this school year. The latter had already promised Piazolo on Wednesday: "When advancing on probation, we will be generous as last year," he said after the cabinet meeting. And: "Of course we allow voluntary repetition, voluntary repetition is not counted towards the total time at school."
