Berlin (dpa) - Hertha coach Pal Dardai does not want to participate in speculations about a possible involvement of Fredi Bobic as a new manager at the Berlin Bundesliga club.

Nevertheless, he would certainly welcome a return of the Frankfurt sports board to the capital.

«I'm a Fredi fan.

He's a good boy, an honest boy, a really good person.

He always wants to win, but it's not my business to talk about whether he'll come to Hertha or not.

There is the lead, ”said Dardai at a digital media round on Tuesday.

According to media reports, Bobic has announced his departure from Eintracht Frankfurt despite a contract until 2023.

In Berlin, he is considered the preferred candidate to succeed Sport Director Michael Preetz, who had to leave in January.

«It has its name, it has earned it, it wasn’t given as a gift, I really appreciate that about it.

Who knows what's going to happen, ”said Dardai of his former Berlin team-mate.

Dardai also indicated that he may soon no longer be Hertha head coach and instead will take over his old post in the youth department.

"If I go back to the youngsters and he becomes a big boss at Hertha, why not, that's all well and good, he's a fighter," said the Hungarian without going into details of his future planning.

At the end of January, Dardai took over from coach Bruno Labbadia at the relegation-threatened Berliners and signed a contract until 2022.
