Wassenberg (dpa / lnw) - Attentive passengers have slowed down a presumably drunk bus driver in the Heinsberg district.

The 67-year-old driver had ignored the passengers' stop requests and drove past the stops, the police announced on Monday.

When the journey ended at the bus station in Wassenberg, the passengers confronted the man and called the police.

The officers noticed that the driver had been drinking alcohol and took him to the station for a blood sample.

His driver's license was secured.

The police are looking for witnesses.
