Nuremberg (dpa / lby) - Several kicks in the head: an 82-year-old was attacked in a subway station in Nuremberg and seriously injured.
The alleged perpetrator, a 21-year-old, then fled by subway, but was later caught.
A police spokesman said on Friday that the alleged perpetrator suddenly attacked the man on an escalator in a subway station and kicked him several times when he was already on the ground.
Only when passers-by stepped in did he let go of the man and drive away.
The 82-year-old was seriously injured in the hospital.
Meanwhile, the subway was stopped at a train station and the fugitive suspect was arrested there, the spokesman said.
He was reportedly seriously drunk and was carrying a stolen surveillance camera from a subway train.
The 21-year-old is already known to the police because of multiple charges of assault.
He was also taken to a hospital.
