No special documents for those vaccinated against coronavirus in Russia - the so-called covid passports - are not needed.

This opinion was expressed by the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, who noted that discussions on this topic are often interpreted incorrectly.

“Either because of a misunderstanding, or for some other reason, this topic is being presented in the wrong way, scaled up, because no one said that Russia would introduce covid passports.

This is an invention in public opinion ... It was about the fact that an electronic register of vaccinated people is being maintained, this is correct, ”she told reporters, stressing that the vaccination process in the country is purely voluntary.

“In the perception of people, this is such a red book, where there will be a lot of stamps, and with this book he will receive some additional rights and opportunities.

It would not be like that and it would be inappropriate to do it - to separate people, to give them different rights, based on the results of vaccination, is wrong, ”added Matvienko.

In turn, the ombudsman for human rights in Russia Tatyana Moskalkova called covid passports an important measure in the fight against the epidemic.

“Given the current realities in the spread of COVID-19 and the restrictive measures taken,“ antique passports ”at this stage are a timely and necessary condition in countering the pandemic.
