In Russia, about 4 million medical masks are sold through pharmacies, large retail chains and small retail stores per day. This was announced by the deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Viktor Yevtukhov.

“In large retail chains, which today occupy about 30% of the Russian market, 1.5 million masks are sold per day,” he said on the Russia 24 television channel.

Yevtukhov said that pharmacies sell about 1.6 million masks per day.

“With the goal of making retail, there will be about 4 million masks per day — what our citizens buy,” the official said.

According to Yevtukhov, there is no excessive demand for medical masks in the country.

Earlier, the head doctor of the Moscow City Clinical Hospital No. 15 named after Filatov Valery Vechorko spoke about the importance of wearing medical masks.
