Russia suspends visa-free travel to China due to coronavirus

The Russian government has decided to suspend visa-free travel to China due to the outbreak of a new type of coronavirus 2019-nCoV.


The corresponding order was published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Russia.

"Temporarily suspend visa-free tourist trips stipulated by the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People's Republic of China on visa-free group tourist trips dated February 29, 2000," the statement said.

It is noted that the FSB of Russia should begin the implementation of this order from "00:00 local time on February 2, 2020."

Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor ordered the authorities of the regions of Russia to strengthen measures to ensure the disinfection regime in order to prevent the spread of a new type of coronavirus 2019-nCoV.
