Porsche 911 Convertible: Thick pleasure

The Porsche developers have even broken with a few taboos for this claim of everyday foolproof. It is almost embarrassing that the self-proclaimed grail-guard of lightweight construction now captures a hundredweight more without the car getting any bigger. And that Porsche installs digital instruments, in which two out of four displays are hidden by the steering wheel, is also annoying.

Like the closed model, there are also the open 911 first only as Carrera S for 134.405 euros with rear and for 142.259 euros with four-wheel drive. He is about 14,000 euros expensive than the coupe.

In the rear there is then a 3.0-liter boxer, which makes 450 hp and 530 Nm and at full throttle creates up to 306 km / h. At least on the test bench, the Porsche is reasonably economical and needs 9.0 liters there.

Porsche would not be Porsche if it stayed that way. Because the Swabians want to collect as much money as possible with the penalty, there will soon be a new Carrera as a base model with 385 hp and again a turbo. In addition, the Targa is back in the pipeline. If the new soft top is too perfectionist, there's a hand-knotted alternative.

We will not forget that: The sunken in favor of the aerodynamic door handles, which can be laboriously brought out of the plate. While the convertible otherwise has such an open character and opens even faster, the penalty in this detail is quite closed.
