Four firefighters who were working to extinguish a fire at a waste disposal plant in Dongducheon were injured and moved to a hospital.
Today (28th) around 5 am, a big fire broke out at the garbage disposal facility in Sangpae-dong, Dongducheon-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Firefighting authorities once issued the first phase of the response and put out the fire in four and a half hours by putting in more than 60 personnel and 20 equipment.
During the firefighting process, the chimney collapsed in the facility, and three firefighters were injured, and firefighters in their thirties who were trying to clean up the residuals also suffered second degree burns.
A fire department official said, "It was determined that no one was in the building at the time of the fire," and said, "We are investigating the cause of the fire as we have finished cleaning up the residuals."
