Preview of 'Trolls 2: World Tour'
Interview with Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick, who lend their voices to two characters from 'Trolls 2: world tour'
Movie trailer with a clip featuring Poppy and Branch
Four years after the success of
Trolls
, a film that narrated the fantastic adventures of these friendly singing beings with spiky hairstyles of different colors,
the sequel
Trolls 2: World Tour
comes to our screens
.
On the occasion of this long-awaited premiere we had the opportunity to talk with
Justin Timberlake
(Memphis, Tennessee, USA, 1981) and
Anna Kendrick
(Portland, Maine, USA, 1985), who once again voiced the protagonists Branch and Poppy, respectively, and perform their songs.
Justin Timberlake lends his voice to a character in the film.
Speaking of
where his characters are now
, Kendrick confessed the following: "In the first film they had a quite contentious relationship and, although
Poppy is still so positive and Branch more grumpy
, now they are on the same team, which is fun."
"Also, Branch has to deal with feeling more than just friendship toward her," adds Timberlake.
In this new adventure they will discover that their small world is bigger
than they thought, as there are many other trolls out there with different tastes and musical talents.
"Then," continues the famous actor and musician, "they will learn to celebrate their differences."
"And specifically
Poppy
", explains Anna Kendrick, "who
is the queen of her tribe
, understands that she does not always have all the answers and that she will have to listen better to others. The adventure in which these two little creatures embark to Saving their world leads them to meet many other different troll tribes, which in turn has given the animators the opportunity to create them. And I think they have done an incredible job. "
Branch and Poppy.
Speaking of what it means to play animated characters,
Justin Timberlake confirmed that it is "a special process
, and even more so when you have the opportunity to repeat it. You feel free, since you can even do it in your pajamas and have such a good time."
"That's right!", Confirms Kendrick, "it's fun not having to worry about your appearance or the gestures you perform in the recording booth. And you can try a lot of different things, which is a must. more mindful when shooting a live action movie, where you have added pressure with every shot. In fact, I know there are things that we tried half jokingly in
Trolls 2: World Tour
that are in the final cut. "
There is no doubt that
music once again plays a leading role in this film
, and even more so than in the first film due to the appearance of all these different tribes of trolls with their particular musical tastes: jazz, rock, techno, pop, country, classical ... In the words of Timberlake, who is also executive producer of the music for
Trolls 2: World Tour
: "At
Trolls
we knew that through music we had to establish their DNA and we used many well-known songs, but this new film has more original themes.
It was wonderful to explore so many different musical genres to give each tribe its own sound and identity.
And then we had the added challenge of putting all these different styles together in one song. "
Anna Kendrick in a dubbing session.
The truth is that the list of songs is quite extensive.
"Some are used for comedic moments," Timberlake continues, "while others have a more emotional value.
It was a great challenge and a very fun experience at the same time.
It's amazing how many talented performers are involved in the film, lending their voices to the different characters that appear in the story. "
"I really enjoyed making the first movie, to the point that every time they told me I had to go shoot something I was so excited; but
this experience was even better than the last one!"
Kendrick exclaimed.
"And the result," Timberlake emphasizes, "is a very entertaining adventure with wonderful music and a great message."
