A former prosecutor who was handed over to the trial for assaulting a junior female prosecutor while in office was sentenced to imprisonment at the appeal trial and was imprisoned in court.

Seoul High Court Criminal Division 10 (Deputy Judge Won Ik-sun, Lim Young-woo, Shin Yong-ho) sentenced former prosecutor Jin Mo, who was charged with forced harassment and other charges, to 10 months in prison, the same as the first trial.

The court of the first trial judged that Mr. Jin had no fear of destroying evidence or running away, so the court did not arrest him, but today (3rd), the court of appeals court said that there was a need for arrest.

The Appeals Tribunal pointed out that "the crime is not light because the defendant who works as a prosecutor has forcibly harassed the victims working in the same prosecution office."

Jin briefly said that he was "unhappy" when asked by the judges for their opinion on the results of the sentence.

Jin was charged with sexual harassment of two drunken junior prosecutors at a dinner party in 2015, while he was serving as a prosecutor.

After the sexual harassment case, Jin resigned and left the prosecution.

Jin's resignation was accepted without punishment or disciplinary action, and Jin got a job as an executive at a large company and then resigned.
