Currently, there are heavy rain warnings in Seoul and other metropolitan areas. Even now, the rain is strong, and I connect to a reporter on the Han River Jamsu Bridge.

Reporter Han So-hee, how is the situation right now?

<Reporter>

The Jamsu Bridge here where I am from rained all morning and stopped repeatedly, and now, thick rain is pouring.

The water level of the Jamsu Bridge, which recorded the highest 11.5m on the 7th day, gradually lowered and went down to the 6.7m range this morning, but the water level has risen rapidly again to the extent that it has steadily rained and now exceeds 7.8m.

It is raining continuously in the metropolitan area, and as rain of up to 500mm is forecast in the Seoul area the day after tomorrow, it is expected that the water level will drop below 6.2m, which is the standard for vehicle control of the submersible bridge.

Then, the traffic around it will still be controlled?

<Reporter>

Yes, from 10:40 am, both up and down streams of Yeoui were controlled.

This is because the discharge of Paldang Dam has increased to more than 9,600 tons per second, and the water level of the Han River has risen significantly.

In addition, traffic to some sections of Yangjaecheon-ro, Jamsu Bridge in Seoul, and near Gaehwa Yukgapmun are also restricted.

As heavy rain was forecast in the central region, Seoul City issued the second stage of disaster countermeasures from 10:30 last night and began working as an emergency.

The trails around the river, including Jungnangcheon, and 11 parking lots in the Han River Citizen Park are also closed.
