Friday evening, Gérard Dué, the mayor of this town of 2,000 inhabitants near Arras, was called for nighttime noise. Arrived on the spot, he was "overthrown by the individual responsible for these noise pollution", we learned from the Pas-de-Calais prefecture, confirming information from La Voix du Nord. Slightly injured, the city councilor was hospitalized and lodged a complaint.

On Saturday, a 25-year-old young man was arrested and taken into police custody for "violence against a person holding public authority," the Arras prosecutor's office told AFP.
In a tweet, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin said he had called the mayor of Croisilles "to give him all (his) support)". "These acts must not go unpunished because behind a mayor, it is the Republic which is attacked", he added.
