A total of five people died at the site of the landslide in Gokseong, Jeollanam-do.

According to Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do and the Jeonnam Fire Department, Kangmo was found dead at around 1:43 pm today (8th).

Disaster prevention authorities concluded that the search was due to Kang as the last burial man.

On the 7th, around 8:29 pm, the soil collapsed in the mountain behind the village of Osan-myeon, Gokseong-gun, and five houses were buried.

Three of them were completely covered in earth and sand, and firefighters rescued Mo Kim (71, female), Mo Yoon (53, male) and aunt (60 female) from here the night before, but died.

Although sediment was rushing into two separate houses to rescue them, the work was halted due to heavy rain and the risk of additional landslides and resumed at dawn.

Firefighters rescued Mr. Aunt from a pile of dirt around 8:15 am and moved to the hospital, but died.

The rescued Mr. Lee was found in a separate house, and Mr. Kang was also found there.

The disaster prevention authorities evacuated about 30 villagers to Osan Elementary School right after the landslide in preparation for further danger.

The disaster prevention authorities determined that there were no more suspected burials, as the Kim, Yoon and Kang families each lived, and the remaining two were used as separate houses or warehouse spaces.

Some residents have stated that they have piled up the soil needed for the construction as the road was expanded beyond the mountains behind the village.

The police are planning to investigate the exact details of the accident through the point where the sediment flowed for the first time.
