According to the quarantine authority, the first confirmed patient in the group infection of Wangseong Church was a 31-year-old woman living in Seowon-dong (Gwanak 90), who was positive on the 24th.

In an epidemiological investigation, it was confirmed that the patient attended the church choir practice on the 18th, participated in the church MT held in Daebu-do, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 19th and 20th, and praised at the choir on the 21st.

The quarantine authority believes that through such activities, Corona19 was spread among members of the Royal Church.

The choir was 12, and the MT was 20.

However, at the time of the service, it was confirmed that most of the participants in the worship service except the choir members wore masks.

Accordingly, the Seoul Metropolitan Government is conducting a thorough inspection of 41 probable members who would have been in close contact with existing confirmed persons.

According to information released by regional authorities in Seoul and Gyeonggi, 7 members of the Royal Church were confirmed on the 24th, and 7 were confirmed yesterday (25th), and at least 5 were confirmed today.


The number of related patients identified so far has been 13, including 9 of Gwanak-gu, but the number of patients is expected to continue to increase for the time being, as test results are notified sequentially and additional identified contacts are being examined.

Among those who confirmed the infection from Wangseong Church, teachers of Ewha Womans High School in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, and staff of the Four Seasons Hotel Sauna in Jongno-gu are also concerned.

The quarantine authorities temporarily closed the church's daycare center, including this church, and closed the college, where related confirmers work as teachers.

In addition, students who attended worship services and colleges and universities were also suspended.

The fitness center on the 8th floor and the sauna on the 9th floor of the Four Seasons Hotel where the Shinto believers of Wangsung Church work are temporarily closed.


One of the patients related to Wangsung Church includes a teacher at Daedaebu High School in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, confirmed this morning.

This patient will be managed as an outbreak patient in Seoul according to the examination site.

In Yongin, a man in his 30s (Yongin 101), who lived in Jukjeon 1-dong, Suji-gu, who had 90 contacts in Gwanak, was confirmed.

The patient is based in a data center in the financial group in Yongin, and was found to live with four other co-workers in the apartment, the company's dormitory.

The quarantine authority believes that 1,696 members of the church attended Sunday worship service on the 21st.

Gwanak-gu decided to inspect the entire Shinto church, and samples have been collected from Gwanak-gu Public Health Center since yesterday. This morning, a temporary screening clinic was installed in front of Wangseong Church.
