RBA is a new class of software and systems, in which artificial intelligence is mixed with traditional programming methods. It has been on the scene this year and has made its way quickly and impressively into large corporations and corporations, (2018) to $ 680 million (AED 2.49 billion). It is expected to continue to grow significantly and deepen its use in enterprises, with global spending reaching $ 2.4 billion by 2022, and it will be spread over 85% of large enterprises around the world.

The results came from IT Expo 2018, organized by Gartner International, an IT market research firm in Goa, India, which ended yesterday.

Robots

According to Gartner on the newsroom on its official website

gartner.com/ en / newsroom About the conference, RPA is the abbreviation of automating processes with robots, which means the use of software developed in a way that integrates artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques and operates in a self-running way, Robots "in automating or automating parts of processes and business cycles within enterprises and businesses, particularly low-level routine tasks, to achieve cost savings, speed in delivery, and dispense with human intervention.

To complement the concept, "robots" are robots that are entirely developed from software, and are not manufactured by any hardware, hardware or metal, and are installed on information systems that work entirely through computers and networks located within institutions or homes.

Regular software

The main difference between them and ordinary software is that during the development of regular programs, the developer or programmer prepares a list of procedures for automating an assignment or performing an ongoing work cycle using human interaction interfaces, Or a custom scripting language.

In RBA systems, it is different. Programs are developed without a human interface. Through artificial intelligence and machine learning, the program executes, on its own and in person, these tasks directly by repeating a set of demonstration procedures , And features that allow data to be processed within and between multiple applications, such as receiving an email containing an invoice, extracting data, and then typing it into the accounting system known as bookkeeping.

Quick and easy solution

Speaking at the conference about the concepts, opportunities and challenges of RPA systems, Gartner vice president Katie Turnbuhm said that many organizations and institutions are beginning to adopt these systems as a quick, easy and low-cost solution replacing traditional manual tasks. When RPA software and systems implement these activities, the margin of error shrinks, data quality increases, and execution time decreases.

The list of the largest adopters of these systems today includes banks, insurance companies, utilities and telecommunications companies.

Workflow Simulation

For his part, the researcher at Gartner, Paul Delory, explained some aspects of the RPA systems, said that the essence of what it does is to simulate the workflow within the institution, or to simulate the process of the person to carry out a task. According to him, it is the registration of the macro, a set of small custom commands placed inside a program to automate repetitive process, or some type of scripts where the robot can click a button, and enter some texts, and simulates what he does Such as taking data from the Excel spreadsheet, placing it in a different spreadsheet, extracting information from e-mail, and putting it in another internal system, which are low-level tasks that sometimes mimic paperwork, RPA "efficiently.

Expected expenditure

During the conference, Gartner announced that it is placing these systems at the level of "inflated expectations" in the course of assumptions about what will happen in the IT market over the next five years.

Gartner estimates that global spending will reach $ 680 million by the end of 2018, an increase of 57% over 2017, to keep global spending at this high level of annual growth, to spend $ 2.4 billion by 2022.

Expectations of proliferation

Gartner estimates that by the end of this year, about 60% of companies with revenue over $ 1 billion will have deployed RPA systems in their internal business cycles.

She explained that the spread will be within the giant, large and medium-sized enterprises, reaching a prevalence rate to 85% by 2022.

The growth in the adoption and operation of these systems will depend on the average price decline of about 10 to 15% by 2019.
