An incumbent judge who was involved in drunken driving was sentenced to a fine at the trial.

Judge Joaara, 26, a judge in Seoul Central District Court, convicted a judge for violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) of A (35, Judicial Research and Training Institute) today and sentenced him to a fine of 1 million won.

Judge A, who works for a local court in Chungcheong Province, was caught in a crackdown last October when he drove around 200 meters after drinking alcohol in Gangnam, Seoul.

The blood alcohol level at that time was 0.056%, the license suspension level.

The judge, A, who was briefly accused, received a fine of one million won, but disagreed with him and demanded a formal trial in January.

A judge said he was innocent in the trial, saying that his alcohol level had risen slightly since he drank alcohol and measured his alcohol level in a "rising period."
