Gällivare District Court sentences the 31-year-old man to forensic psychiatric care for aggravated assault on Malmbergsbon, and the 32-year-old man who has consistently refused is sentenced to 16 years in prison and deportation.

It was sometime between 17 July and 20 July that the man was allegedly beaten. According to the prosecutor, blood splatter in the home indicates that the assault must have started upstairs, that the victim then fell down the stairs and then received further blows and kicks. Among other things, the 31-year-old himself says that he pushed a shovel against the victim's neck. In total, more than 230 injuries were found on the deceased's body.

The men who all moved in the same circles knew each other before, but no motive has emerged during the trial.

One denies and the other admits

During the trial, the 32-year-old man completely denied while the 31-year-old made some confessions. However, he believes that the assault took place on the 32-year-old's assignment.

This is what the 31-year-old's lawyer Inga-Lill Staffansson said during the trial:

- He admits that he has been involved in doing this, but due to a serious hash psychosis, it can not be said that he has any intent. He has been threatened by the 32-year-old. If he does not do things, he can be exposed.

The court follows the 31-year-old's line

The district court considers that the 31-year-old's detailed description of the incident is correct and believes that it is probable that his role during the assault took place under threat.

The 32-year-old man has always avoided answering questions and could not explain why his blood was found in several places in the basement stairs. The district court also sharpens the sentence further when the killed man was alive when the men left him, but still chose not to call for help.
