People who travel to Galicia - whether or not they are residents of that community - from Aragón, Catalonia, Navarra, the Basque Country and La Rioja must register and provide their contact details within a maximum period of 24 hours. The measure, published today in the Official Gazette of Galicia, also affects travelers from Portugal and 136 other countries.
The Government of Alberto Núñez Feijóo justifies this control to stop new outbreaks in the region. Yesterday Monday, the number of infections by coronavirus in Galicia continues to rise, for the fourth consecutive day, with 16 new active cases more accounted for in the last hours, bringing the total to 233, according to the latest data provided by the health authorities.
The Official Gazette of Galicia published yesterday that since Tuesday, the meetings in private spaces, open or closed, for private use, do not exceed 25 people.
It is part of a new update of the sanitary instructions to try to stop the outbreaks of Covid-19.
