Catalonia has decided to confine itself to around 200,000 inhabitants living around Lleida, a city in the northeast of Spain. The cases of contamination have indeed multiplied in recent times in this region of Spain. 

The region of Catalonia on Saturday ordered the confinement of an area comprising some 200,000 inhabitants, around Lerida in the northeast of Spain, due to the multiplication of cases of contagion of the new coronavirus.

"We have decided to confine the area of ​​Segria (around the city of Lerida), on the basis of data confirming a very significant growth in the number of contagions of Covid-19," the region's president told reporters , the independentist Quim Torra. He announced that this containment would begin at noon (10:00 GMT), restricting entry and exit from this area.
